Vancouver’s orchestral death/doom quintet Tribunal is streaming their somber second LP, In Penitence And Ruin, in full ahead of its release this Friday, April 18, 2025, on 20 Buck Spin. Following their acclaimed 2023 debut The Weight of Remembrance, the album—praised by Decibel Magazine as a 2025 must-hear—delivers a crushing elegy of justice and guilt.

Stream it now on YouTube and check out the “Incarnadine” video at 20buckspin.bandcamp.com.

Now a five-piece with Soren Mourne (bass, cello, vocals), Etienne Flinn (guitar, vocals), Jessica Yang (guitar), Julia Geaman (drums), and Dallas Alice (keys), Tribunal weaves doleful strings, chilling keys, and fateful percussion into a monolithic dirge. The concept album, centered on a remorseful Penitent, blends Mourne’s wistful singing with Flinn’s anguished growls. Produced by the band and Jesse Gander at Rain City Recorders, mixed by Gander, and mastered by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios, it features Rory Say’s guest vocals, Mourne’s cover painting, and Sav Bagshaw’s photography.

Pre-order LP, CD, MC, and digital at 20buckspin.com. After canceling May shows, including Northwest Terror Fest, Tribunal has booked a hometown album release show on May 18 at The Kingsway Club, Vancouver, with more dates pending. A haunting triumph for fans of My Dying Bride, Candlemass, and Draconian—dive into the abyss!
