Bay Area heavy metal mavericks The Lord Weird Slough Feg have dropped their new EP, Traveller Supplement 1: The Ephemeral Glades, today via Cruz Del Sur Music, reigniting the cosmic tale of their 2003 cult classic Traveller. This 20-minute, seven-track blast of galloping riffs and space-pirate lore is available on CD, vinyl, and digital—stream it now at thelordweirdsloughfeg.bandcamp.com.

Picking up where Traveller left off, the EP follows Professor Rickets, a Vargr-hybrid exiled on his asteroid ship, hunting Baltech Budapest on the icy planet Mithril. “It’s lean, mean, and weird as hell,” says vocalist/guitarist Mike Scalzi, joined by guitarist Angelo Tringali, bassist Adrian Maestas, and new drummer Austen Krater, whose songwriting fuels the EP’s vigor. Recorded with producer Justin Weis at the same studio as its predecessor, tracks like “Knife World” and “Vargr Reprise” deliver twin-guitar heroics and gritty melodies critics are hailing: “Strange and curious” (The Razors Edge), “a fine return” (Wormwood Chronicles).
