Swedish blackened death metal legends Necrophobic have dropped a chilling new music video for “Nordanvind,” the title track from their freshly released EP, out today via Century Media Records. Known for their sinister fusion of raw ferocity and melodic grandeur, the Stockholm veterans—formed in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner—continue to reign supreme in the extreme metal realm.
“Nordanvind” (Swedish for “North Wind”) is a standout from their 2024 opus “In the Twilight Grey”, and its video amplifies the song’s brooding atmosphere with stark, icy visuals that mirror its haunting riffs and Anders Strokirk’s venomous vocals. The three-track EP also features a blistering cover of W.A.S.P.’s “The Torture Never Stops,” showcasing Necrophobic’s knack for infusing classics with their malevolent edge, alongside an exclusive bonus cut.
Hot off their tenth full-length acclaim, Necrophobic proves their dark fire still burns bright. Stream the “Nordanvind” video and grab the EP now. With over 30 years of unholy mastery, the band shows no signs of slowing their relentless descent into the abyss.
