Metallica Unveils “Metallica Saved My Life” with Teaser Trailer

Thrash metal titans Metallica have announced their latest cinematic venture, Metallica Saved My Life, a documentary spotlighting the band’s global legion of fans. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund—known for helming Metallica’s iconic videos like “Whiskey in the Jar” and “Turn the Page”—the film promises an intimate dive into the lives of the “Fifth Member” faithful who’ve stood by the band through four decades of highs, lows, and triumphs. A teaser trailer dropped today, offering a glimpse into this raw, fan-driven narrative.

“We’ve been working on this behind the scenes for a couple of years,” Metallica shared. “It’s all about you—the fans who’ve carried us through everything. Oh, and we’re in it a bit too.” Featuring the band—James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo—alongside superstar Jason Momoa, the film blends personal stories with Metallica’s larger-than-life presence. Though not fully polished, early screenings kick off April 18 in Syracuse, NY, aligning with their M72 World Tour stops across North America. Tickets are live via Fathom Entertainment, but act fast—they’re capped at two per person.

Following 2023’s 72 Seasons, Metallica’s momentum shows no signs of slowing. The full Metallica Saved My Life release is slated for later 2025, but this sneak peek ensures fans get the first taste. Watch the teaser now and brace for a film that’s as much about the Metallica family as the metal itself.
