In Case You Missed It: Aeonian Sorrow Dropped “Harbinger of Ruin” Video Last Friday

Finnish-Greek doom/gothic metal act Aeonian Sorrow released the haunting video for “Harbinger of Ruin” last Friday, the lead single from their upcoming EP From The Shadows, set for March 31, 2025. Directed by Atte Santala, the video features actors Livi Virtanen, Reti-Liis Saks, Susanne Arola, and Gogo Melone, with Niko Kauhanen on drums. Written by Jani Berney Mikkänen and Gogo Melone, the track was recorded and mixed by Joel Notkonen and mastered by Mikkänen.

Blending Greek and English lyrics, “Harbinger of Ruin” delves into despair, broken promises, and divine wrath with a chilling, atmospheric sound. Gogo Melone’s ethereal vocals and keyboards, alongside Joel Notkonen’s growls, Taneli Jämsä and Jukka Jauhiainen’s heavy guitars, and Achilles Papagrigoriou’s drums, craft a mournful journey. Formed in 2015, Aeonian Sorrow fuses funeral doom and gothic metal, echoing early My Dying Bride. Pre-order the EP at aeoniansorrow.com/merch or aeoniansorrow.bandcamp.com.
