Old-school death metal torchbearers Gruesome return with their fourth album, Silent Echoes, set for release on June 6, 2025, via Relapse Records on LP, CD, cassette, and digital. Celebrating over a decade of channeling the spirit of Death’s Chuck Schuldiner, the quartet—vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey, guitarist Daniel Gonzalez, bassist Robin Mazen, and drummer Gus Rios—shifts from the raw riffage of Savage Lands (2015) and Twisted Prayers (2018) to a progressive, nuanced brutality inspired by Death’s 1991 masterpiece Human. Dedicated to Schuldiner and drummer Sean Reinert, Silent Echoes features eight tracks, including “Condemned Identity,” “Frailty,” and “Voice Within The Void (Astral Ocean).” Recorded and mixed by Jarrett Pritchard at New Constellation Studios in Orlando, with artwork by Travis Smith, the album showcases technical finesse and melodic depth.
